MEETING 1

Journalists have two main functions, namely reporting news and interpreting and providing opinions based on the news they report. a good journalist establishes a solid relationship with his sources so that he can ask them for information. While people don't always like talking to reporters – especially when the story is about a scandal or something negative – a good journalist will have a source who recognizes that there is something positive in spreading the word and getting it right. In other words, a good journalist will develop a good relationship with the resource persons.

MEETING 2

The news process is a two-way transaction, involving journalists and their audiences who may have different priorities. Newspaper circulation figures and media view ratings reveal the most popular stories. In this way, consumers know the types of news that interest them most when they select a particular broadcast channel or newspaper. However, this is a rough and ready size. Little work has been done to define the factors or equivalent news values that determine audience perceptions of news. This is largely because members of any audience will have different interests. It is therefore difficult to define the general factors that generate broad interest. Most of the research done so far has concentrated on what journalists define as news. However, the advent of social media has made it possible for anyone with a cell phone to publish the news.

MEETING 3

The purpose of reporting the story and the readers’ needs are crucial in determining how to structure the story. If you are trying to get out a lot of information now, then the summary lead and inverted pyramid format is probably the best story structure to use. If you are trying to entertain, the creative lead and dramatic format or narrative body might be best. A story’s subject matter most often will dictate its tone and structure. the researcher modified the assessment rubric model so that it is more suitable if applied to assessing news texts. These modifications include modifications to the assessed aspects, descriptors or assessment criteria adapted to the rules of the news text, and scoring.

MEETING 4

Reporter is a type of journalistic position whose job is to cover news gatherings in the field and report them to the public, either in written form for print media or on news sites on the internet or orally if the report is submitted through radio or television electronic media. Reporters' work, whether written or oral, generally has to go through the editing of the news editor or producer before it can be broadcast to the public.

MEETING 5

Research is not only useful for finding a solution to a problem; but there are many other benefits such as:

·         Develop analytical and critical thinking skills. Generally, in every research, researchers will gain new knowledge and experience in the analysis process. In addition, researchers will find it easier to think critically.

·         Network with experts. Each field of science generally has a community that also contains experts in that field. Therefore, if we conduct a research, there is a possibility that we can collaborate with experts in the same field of science as us. In fact, it is not uncommon for a study to be carried out by several experts in different fields of science.

·         Increase the amount of knowledge and new perspectives. Each published research result will contribute to the addition of the latest scientific knowledge. Not infrequently the results of a study also provide new perspectives in solving old problems.

·         Change the way we live. Research in all fields can add insights that change the way we live. Generally this leads to the development of new technologies.

MEETING 6

From a number of existing definitions of features, characteristics of feature writing can be found, including:

1.      Contains aspects of human interest. Feature writing emphasizes more on facts that are claimed to touch the emotional side of the reader. Reading the feature, the reader will be moved, sad, empathetic, and even angry. Therefore, features are also categorized as soft news whose understanding is through human emotions. In contrast to the news (hard news) which is more understanding from the side of thought.

2.      Contains literary elements. Feature writing is written in a fictional writing style. Features are similar to short stories or novels, and other light readings but still informative and factual. A feature writer is basically someone who is telling a story.

MEETING 7

I can prepare for the interview by making a list of questions that invite specific answers, not just yes or no responses. To enhance the detail of your essay, try to meet at a meaningful place for the subject. For example, if you're interviewing a person who restores vintage cars, you might meet in his garage. Throughout the interview, write down details about the person and setting as well as significant quotes. The writing advice website "How to Write English" suggests getting a large number of quotes so you have a variety to choose from when you begin writing. A personality feature article needs to reveal why readers should care about the subject, states the composition department at Colorado State University. As you review your interview notes, think about what is most compelling about this person. For example, the firefighter may have chosen his profession because he lost a close friend in an accidental house fire, or the car enthusiast's favorite piece is his father's Mustang convertible that he painstakingly restored. Finding a defining trait, such as a desire to serve others or a love of family traditions, can provide the key to helping readers relate to the subject. A personality feature story isn't an interview transcript. As you write, resist the temptation to use the phrases "I asked" and "he responded." This can make the article repetitive and cause the reader to lose interest. Instead, write in third-person, knitting background information, descriptions and quotations together. While traditional essays contain conclusions that tie their main ideas together, Charlton advises writers to save a significant quotation for the final paragraph. Ending with the subject's voice can leave readers reflecting on the importance of the person's story.

MEETING 9

As a teacher, the teacher helps students understand something or makes students create ideas from the information provided by the teacher. Then not only that, the teacher must also act as an educator, whose task is to improve the moral attitude of his students. Sometimes the teacher wraps the lesson -- the lesson with various advice and it is a form of education from the teacher. Not only in religious lessons or during counseling, teachers play a big role in student ethics when in class and around school. Is it only at school that teachers act as teachers and educators for students? I do not think so. Teachers still have this role when meeting with students outside of school. The ideal teacher will continue to guide his students if his students need a place to ask questions and a place to tell stories. In addition to being a teacher and educator, the ideal teacher must also be a creative and innovative person. When a teacher knows that his students may be bored with a monotonous learning system, this is where the creative spirit of a teacher is needed.

MEETING 10

When you start writing a film review, try to come up with an interesting part of the film first. Or if you are confused about the most interesting thing, you can be tricked by talking about the movie trailer first. If it is lifted from a novel, you can make a consideration or comparison between the novel and the film. This is one of the interesting things in a film review. When I started writing about this film review, sometimes people like me had to rewatch it just to find out the interesting scenes. In this way, of course, you will need a decent device, at least a good recommendation with the use of multitasking.

MEETING 11

Adjust the words to support photos or videos uploaded on Instagram. So, adjust the Instagram caption that you made with the theme and message you want to convey through the photos or videos you post. For example, if you upload a selfie with a serene and beautiful countryside background, then post a caption that goes along with the photo, which concerns the natural beauty of God's creation, the extraordinary beauty of nature, for example, and so on.

MEETING 12

Attention-grabbing ads are ads that are made from a fresh idea or fresh, and executed in an attractive manner. In order to be able to come up with new ideas, of course the creative team needs to brainstorm, starting from writing down words, phrases, concepts, as well as the choice of images or visuals that you want to use in advertisements. How to make a good product advertisement can refer to the "SUPER A" formula which stands for Simple or simple, Unexpected or unexpected, Persuasive or has persuasion, Entertaining or entertaining, Relevant or relevant, and Acceptable or acceptable.
