Journalism is ctivities to collect, process and disseminate news as quickly and
widely as possible to the public. Journalism is an attempt to produce words and
pictures to be able to transfer an idea or ideas. In journalism there must
always be an element of freshness of time (timeliness or actuality). Therefore,
journalists have two main functions, namely to report news and to make
interpretations and provide opinions based on the news they report. a good
journalist establishes solid relationships with his sources so he can ask them
for information. While people don't always like talking to reporters –
especially when the story is about a scandal or something negative – a good
journalist will have sources who acknowledge that there is something positive
in getting a story out and getting it right. In other words, a good journalist
will develop good relationship with the sources.

News values are general guidelines or criteria that determine
how prominent a media outlet delivers a story. They explain why a story catches
the attention of its audience; and how editors and other journalists decide
that one piece of information is news while another is not. Media outlets
include newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the internet. News value
is also known as news criteria or news factors.

In writing news texts, it is necessary to
pay attention to various constructive aspects. Therefore, a news text
assessment rubric is needed. The rubric of the assessment uses an interval
scale model for each certain level in each aspect that is assessed. The
assessment rubric is used as a guide for assessing essays because it is
considered more detailed and thorough in giving scores, of course it is more
accountable. The elements that must be considered in writing news texts include
the completeness of the content of the news which must meet the 5W + 1H
elements, the organization of the content of the news text, vocabulary, and
mechanics.

Research is essentially a scientific
activity to obtain correct knowledge about a problem. The knowledge obtained is
in the form of facts, concepts, generalizations, and theories that enable
humans to understand phenomena and solve problems at hand. The problem to be
answered through research is called a research problem. Research problems can
be caused by many things. Problems arise because humans experience difficulties
in life, namely there is a mismatch or gap between what is expected and the
actual reality. For example, a student who lives in a boarding house every
month has to manage his finances and faces many needs, while the amount of
funds he has is relatively limited.

Feature writing is a journalistic work
whose writing uses a literary style, telling or telling, like writing a short
story or novel. Feature writing also refers to radio or television information
that is conveyed like a radio drama or play, but the story is real or actually
happened (factual). Opinions that are inserted are also based on facts. In the
book Practical Journalism, I said, journalistic experts have not found
agreement on the definition of feature. Each expert provides his own
formulation of features. So, there is no single formulation about the
definition of features. What is clear is that a feature is also a journalistic
article, but it doesn't always have to follow the classic 5W + 1 H formula and
can be distinguished from news, articles (opinions), columns, and news
analysis.

Personality feature stories don't have to
be about somebody famous or even well-known. In fact, some of the best articles
focus on the everyday stories of regular people. When choosing your subject,
personality feature writer Lori Russell suggests brainstorming with interesting
people you know and asking yourself why readers might find their stories
compelling. You can also think about your personal interests and career goals
when choosing a subject. For example, if you want to work for the fire
department, you might contact them and see if a firefighter would be willing to
let you interview him.

If you have ever wondered
what opinion is, the Big Indonesian Dictionary has defined opinion as an
opinion, thought, or opinion. Answering what is opinion, Cambridge Dictonary
also said that opinion is a thought or belief about something or someone.
Meanwhile, Merriam Webster explains that opinion is a view or judgment that is
formed in the mind about a particular problem. The word opinion itself comes
from the Latin, namely opinari which means 'think' or 'guess'. The word opinion
contains the root word onis which means hope. In English, the word 'opinion' is
closely related to the words option and hope, which means choice or hope.

A synopsis is a short
summary that gives the viewer or reader an idea of what a composition is all
about. The synopsis provides an overview of the storyline or main points and
other determining factors of the work, which may include style, genre, people
or characters of note, setting, and so on. Synopsis are made to describe all
manner of things from all kinds of fiction or nonfiction books, academic
papers, journal and newspaper articles, films, TV shows, and video games. A
synopsis usually includes information about the main events and style of the
story along with information about the characters. The amount of detail and
information disclosed in a synopsis depends on its purpose. For example,
writers often need to provide a lengthy synopsis when proposing a book,
article, or work to a potential publisher or editor. In this case, the synopsis
will include a full plot overview (which includes revealing the ending), signs
of character development, detailed explanations of theme and tone, and so on.
Synopsis is usually written more often, but can also be verbal or visual. One
can provide a brief verbal explanation of an event or written work, which will
serve as a synopsis.

Advertisement (Advertising) is a text
whose purpose is to announce something to be of interest to many people and so
that a product is known to all the general public. Paid advertising is meant to
influence the people who receive the message. Advertisement itself is actually
always present, although many of us are not aware of this. Currently,
advertising uses every possible medium as a medium of conveying its message.
Starting from television, print (newspapers, magazines, journals and so on),
radio, contests, sponsors, posters, broadcasts, internet, hoardings, mailers,
clothes, events, colors, sounds, visuals to people or through endorsements.
